Welcome to Third Floor Publishing's Web Site!
We are Barbara & Douglas Smith, authors of Teach Me Lord That I May Teach. We live in Maryland and have been married almost 28 years. We homeschooled for 11 years, taking our son from 5th grade to high school graduation, and our daughter from 2nd grade through her senior year. We are all still friends, and the kids are properly socialized, knowing their right hand from the left. They speak in complete sentences, and are not afraid of strangers. Unfortunately, they do have trouble "lining up." Our son graduated with honors in three years from Hillsdale College, and by God's grace will receive a Master's degree this summer from Keble College at Oxford. Our daughter is attending the community college, again finishing with honors, by God's grace. We write and publish books for disabled people applying for Social Security Disability benefits, books sharing about the lessons we have learned homeschooling, a local homeschool newsletter, and a new newsletter called Ebenezer Stones, a quarterly publication offering encouragement for homeschooling parents who believe they are in the thick of a tough battle.

Ebenezer Stones
This is a quarterly publication offering encouragement for homeschooling parents who believe they are in the thick of a tough battle. Samuel reminded the battle-weary Israelites of God's faithful leading in 1 Samuel 7:14, and that's the goal of this newsletter: Remembering how far God has brought us, we press on for the joy of the Lord is our strength! Teach Me Lord That I May Teach...
Teach Me Lord That I May Teach... (or what we learned thinking we were homeschooling the kids.) by Barbara and Douglas Smith is a collection of lessons sometimes learned the hard way.

From a Pastor's Heart
Third Floor Publishing introduces its latest publication, From a Pastor's Heart: Devotions for Today, A Continuation of Devotions by Uncle Bill, by Rev. William A. Mahlow, Sr. This book of devotions contains a lifetime of wisdom that spans generations. In the Introduction, Rev. Mahlow's grandson writes, "[I]t is my grandfather's hope that the Holy Spirit will use these words to effect the sometimes unpleasant process of change in your life."

Upcoming Releases
Barbara and Doug are also working on two new books to be released soon. Growing Up Homeschooling ... (or learning what we wanted the kids to take to heart) is due out this summer (1998). On chfweb.com, Barbara has been sharing previews of their soon-to-be-released Bible study on Nehemiah, Building With Ancient Blueprints (or, using Nehemiah's plans in your home school!).

Physicians' Disability Services
Doug Smith writes and Barbara Smith edits books for people claiming Social Security disability benefits and their physicians, through their company Physicians' Disability Services (or PDS). Their new Web site has just been released!
